It’s official.  Nevada has approved liscencing male prostitutes to work in legal brothels.  My confusion about the oddity of the reaction of the brothel industry lobbyist George Flint who has been opposed to this seems cleared up by the Sun’s account. It seems the bible thumping brothel lobbyist is a tad homophobic, truly scared of gay people. According to Las Vegas Sun after the hearing Flint:

“A brothel industry lobbyist — in what could be considered a befuddling double standard — bemoaned the change, comparing it to the industry’s ‘Pearl Harbor.’ He managed to voice concerns about homosexual sex entering the industry without ever saying ‘gay sex’ or ‘homosexual.’”

Yes, I will speak Mr. Flint’s worst fear. This is going to open the door to lots of gay male prostitutes coming to work in Nevada brothels. And, while female prostitutes have been allowed to work in brothels for years, Mr. Flint thinks that high moral standard is now in jeopardy. I think this is great for tourism.  If Nevada is going to have legalized prostitution, Mr. Flint will have to get over his fears because when selling sex all money is green.
