Horrible accident can’t stop Hussong’s opening

Tonight Hussong’s opens next to Burger Bar at The Shoppes at Mandalay Place. The story behind the arrival of this cantina is an amazing one. Scott Frost, a principal, was in a horrendous motorcycle accident last year that left him a quadriplegic. Throughout his recovery, starting from his hospital bed shortly after the accident, he never ceased work on this project. As most of us simply try to deal with the changing financial circumstances of Vegas, Frost, also, was trying for hours to simply move his fingers.

Now, Hussong’s is complete, and the last time I saw Frost he had, through intense physical therapy, regained enough movement and control of his fingers and arms to use a computer. For tonight’s grand opening, Frost is going to attempt to walk with fiancee Megan Powell into his new restaurant and bar. I wish him all luck.

Frost’s story is truly an inspiration. And, I look forward to tonight.
