Last week I attended Marie Osmond’s return to the stage after her son’s funeral. I noted that despite the professionalism of Osmond, the performance was clearly painful for her: “The show was not a banal staged triumph over grief; this was clearly a first step for her, and one she handled with incredible dignity.”
And, yet, the emotional turmoil she was experiencing during the show made it hard to imagine her going back to these performances regularly. So, I am saddened, but not surprised to report that Donny & Marie performances for the rest of this week have been canceled. According to Sun’s John Katsilometes shows will resume March 23, as Osmond, understandably needs a little more time to grieve. (Photo: Sarah Gerke)

Saw her show Tues after she got back and every time she wasn’t facing the audience, she seemed to be trying to control her tears. I know all about that helplessness one feels after Suicide. My Cousin and Brother committed suicide and I still don’t comprehend it. All I have to say to Marie is, “Hang on there Kiddo, The Pain will lessen with time.”
