: Cirque goes for MJ, will you? http://bit.ly/9wa6qk <== ok, but I draw the line at Cirque Debbie Gibson.
I really enjoyed Mystere, O, Ka (my favorite) and Zumanity –but I never got interested in the Beatles, Viva Elvis or the-Cirque-that-shall-go-unnamed. Now this… this I would see. While the other three celebrity tie-ins ranged from rushed (The Beatles covering for Sigfried and Roy) to disastrous (why Luxor, why?), this just seems perfect. I’m sure MJ would’ve approved… in fact, it wouldn’t have surprised anyone if he’d wanted to be in it.
In answer to your question. Not no. But hell no.
I think you know my feelings, Richard. Since I’ve been so vocal on your articles in the past.
Cirque du Soleil hierarchy people are douchebags. Because they aligned with a total and complete douchebag (Criss Angel) for his horrible show (BeLIEve) at the Luxor, and even go out of their way to make up excuses for the dumb shit he does in public. And STILL Cirque chooses to back that horrible show and take out their ignoramous business decision out on the paying public, making them pay for their bad business decision rather than just writing it off. Criss Angel BeLIEve is STILL a horrible show and Criss Angel still demonstrates he doesn’t have a talented magical bone in his carcass.
Which all leads up to this question…
Based on this, are these the right people to present a Michael Jackson show in Las Vegas?
A MANILOW circ, would interest me.
He’s got enough variety of songs to select from for interpretation.
Cirque needs to take a deep breath, where will this end; Cirque Grateful Dead? No high wires, no acrobats, no tricks, no act just the music and everybody sits around and gets stoned….Come to think of it that might improve Believe
