The future of Las Vegas is in offering people opportunities they can not get elsewhere.  Attached to that is much of what Vegas offers tourists has more an illusion of risk than actual danger (except for gambling). Anything can happen in Vegas, perhaps. But most tourists want to  feel wild while staying safe,  and that means don’t color outside the lines. And, this ride is a perfect example of what Vegas does best. I am far too big a coward to ever jump off the Tower. But I believe intellectually (and, this video shows) the experience is safe. Apparently this is the largest drop of this sort;  if true, that gives Stratosphere a unique offering, a reason for tourists to go visit the property.
