Norm Clarke is reporting that a raid took place yesterday at Eva Longoria Parker’s Beso restaurant and Eve nightclub at CityCenter. Unlike the infamous Pure raid by the IRS (investigation still open), this action apparently was bizarrely carried out by private security working for the owners.
It seems that like in some Medieval European kingdom, the rightful rulers of Beso and Eve had been deposed. To regain control, they raised a mercenary army of private security to lay siege as the conquering heroes and thus retake the establishment and liberate the employees. Happy cheers! This could be history from the Hundred Years’ War–yet, it seems oddly to have happened in Las Vegas yesterday.
Clarke reports this truly weird story in which the real owners feared they had lost control to a man who had taken over the establishment and terrorized employees. Clarke’s column notes that a source informed him “the man in question threw bottles of champagne at a chef.” My guess is that throwing bottles would be a criminal act and yet there has been no police involvement reported at this time.
So, many questions.
I have reached out to Beso/Eve for comment.
This is the second time CityCenter’s tenant club has drawn notice for their interesting associations. If you recall, a few months ago, I reported that the controversial Steve Davidovici was running some red carpets at Eve. Davidovici was a managing partner at Pure at Caesars when the IRS raided the club as well as its sister club, LAX and its management offices. It was also widely reported that agents visited Davidovici’s home.

Incredible how the same people who are supposedly in charge keep getting away with things and pop up involving the same mismanagement of nightclubs/restaurants along the Strip again and again.
First it was Pure at Caesars. Then it was Prive at P-Ho. Now, it’s levitated over to City Center. And it seems like they are all linked in some way.
And it’s the same trend. Operating under the radar. They perform stuff that borders on criminal behavior, mismanagment and terrorizing; all with the common theme of raking in money, money, money. And they know where the line is. They step on it, but don’t go across it.
I am pleased to see in this instance the business took care of this situation themselves. This shows that City Center businesses are interested and value their ability to continue to operate as businesses. So much so that it appears they want to clean up after themselves and not involve Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD), and ultimately the County Commissioners (because LVMPD is their eyes and ears).
I guess this story isn’t over yet though.
The same people that are raking in the money and victimizing not only businesses, but employees and patrons, are still out there in Las Vegas somewhere.
Chased away from one place. But they’ll surface again somewhere else. Because they are playing the system against itself. They know how the police operate. They know how businesses operate. And they use all this against them.
Scrape that money in fast and loose, then when found out, run like hell, lay low, come out in the open again somewhere else, the trend continues.
God, I love this town. Dunno why though….
Hmmmmmmmm…… Richard, who is this mysterious “operating partner” that was escorted off property with his wife and served with a restraining order?? And why is the media not mentioning this person’s name?? Do you think this person could have been Stevie D once again? Or was it a another new villain that we have not yet heard of? Hmmmmmmmmmmm….
If I had the name I would post it. It seems odd to me that someone can be a managing partner and the name not be in the public domain for a club in a place as high profile as CityCenter. But I do not think the person was Sevie D. He is too well known a name for me not to hear. Also, his interests and those of a chef are unlikely to conflict. His world is nightlife and celebrity more than restaurants. But I very much want more details. So, anyone who does have a name(s) or more information drop me an e-mail, please. Yrs., Richard
