Builder propoganda hits YouTube on CityCenter

The Facebook group “Citizens Holding MGM Accountable” has begun to issue forth propaganda from very sympathetic subcontractors. Giroux Glass President Anne-Merelie Murrell tells her story above. What is interesting to me is her acknowledgment that a great deal of her work was done too quickly and without the proper paperwork. She notes that one glass installation job near the end of the project that should have taken three weeks was done in a Biblical six days. She was told the paperwork would catch up, which she says never happened.

Again, while everyone is being very public fighting over money, I keep going back to the deaths that happened quietly (until Las Vegas Sun began looking into them) of workers at the CityCenter construction project and remembering the insistence by MGM Mirage and Perini that safety was never ever being compromised for the sake of speed. If so, then safety seems to have had an almost magical exemption to the desire for speed that apparently overtook planning, paperwork and payment.
