Back opening the Gold Plated Door

troppool

I am so sorry to have been gone since June 1. I’m back.  Vegas working vacation.

As some of you know I am working at a novel and when things are going well for the fictional world then I follow.   But I have also been busy writing elsewhere and so while I catch up on Vegas  to resume blogging let me catch you up on some of the work I have done during my unexpected vacation from GPD:

I did the Movable Buffet column on the renovations at the Tropicana.

Also, I left Vegas to cover the bizarre porn star samurai sword killing for The Daily Beast.

I also did a few stories on entertainment locally for Vegas Seven that you can find weekly at this link.

Housekeeping: on GoldPlatedDoor.com matters: I urge all of you to follow GPD on Twitter. This is not an ego thing to build my number of followers. I find it really valuable to respond to people there, and it has been a help to me staying in touch with your thoughts and interests. Also, Twitter doesn’t demand that you claim to be my fan or friend like Facebook; it only allows that you are part of the conversation here.

That said, you can be a fan of GPD on FaceBook. And, of course, that would be great, too, and I thank  all of you who have done that. But I have yet to find a way to make better use of our FaceBook page. Any suggestions?

Welcome back. I bet covering that porn star samurai sword killing was shocking and horrifying.

I can’t help you with the FaceBook question. Mainly because I am still working with the very first version of FaceBook. And I don’t want to change.

The first version of it is the one where you buy a book and stick your face in it and read it.

Can’t teach an old dog new tricks, I guess.

  2. GOLDPLATEDDOOR Thanks for the pointer to blog post. I wish your other columns (Buffet, Beast, Seven) had RSS feeds so I didn’t miss them.
